About Me
When I joined Appian Chennai in 2022, I was the third employee and first member of the Product team! Our growth from single digits to over 140 employees has also seen the Product team in Chennai work on innovative products and features for Appian.
A defining moment of pride and accomplishment for me as a Senior Product Manager was witnessing our first fully homegrown product ProcureSite’s recent launch at Appian’s annual conference for partners and customers - Appian World, in May 2024. The event was attended by thousands of our partners, customers, and colleagues from around the world.
What it felt like seeing ProcureSight being launched at Appian World.
It was fantastic to see the product launch being launched at Appian World. Talking about the product in person, with our customers was incredible, and felt vastly different from receiving feedback over emails or from my counterparts. I saw their reactions live during the product launch when they participated in the live demo and provided first hand feedback which helped realize the value of the work we all did.
Leading up to Appian World, my Product team in Chennai worked with our colleagues at Headquarters to build ProcureSite, a new solution for government acquisition professionals. It was a fast-paced project we delivered in just three months. We demoed the product with a customer and they were immediately impressed and wanted to use it right away.
ProcureSite connects and pulls data from different government sites to make the procurement process easier and more efficient for federal agencies. It allows customers to search data from all its organization's acquisitions in one integrated view. We heard from customers that this process was very manual and time-consuming, therefore we wanted to create a product to help solve this problem. Our existing Government Acquisition Management Suite is an independent service for organizations operating in the government sector. It’s truly exciting to be part of a successful product launch with established plans for growth.
Collecting immediate, positive customer feedback.
It was impressive to see firsthand at Appian World how many partners and customers are looking forward to the new features Appian delivers. When we’re building a product like ProcureSite, it’s important to understand why it matters. We’re putting 100% of our hard work and dedication into making an impact for our customers. Appian World this year helped me understand how important that impact is.
I traveled from Chennai to Washington, D.C. to attend Appian World, where I had the opportunity to meet numerous partners and customers who had also journeyed from around the globe to be there. The event generated a lot of interest, with many participants registering people signing up to learn more about ProcureSite. I was awestruck by the support and interest. I heard customers say “integration is easy” and talk about how it’s “fast to build and customize however we want.”
From among several requests we receive from our partners, we strive to prioritize those that will solve the right problems for most of our customers and partners.
Being at the forefront of innovation in Chennai.
We’re a dynamic company leading local automation technology, as artificial intelligence (AI) continues to revolutionize industries globally. I’ve seen firsthand how Appian leaders and the company culture embrace new technologies like AI. Now, we’re integrating AI into every aspect of our products which definitely sets us apart – very few other companies are doing so. I see Appian at the forefront of innovative technology in Chennai.
Those who join Appian Chennai are in for an exciting, fulfilling experience because our focus is to make a definitive impact on Appian's strategic growth, and build features that matter. We move quickly, as we did with ProcureSite. Ideas take shape very easily and I’ve seen how new ideas are embraced and can be implemented quickly.
