The Senior Manager for ERP Business Systems is responsible for the strategic support and direction of Appian’s financial accounting systems and related applications. You will lead the planning, development, and execution of all enterprise systems, as well as developing and implementing governance practices and indirectly supervising outside contractors and internal staff to coordinate project execution.

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead planning and execution of back office enterprise systems including ERP, CRM, HRIS, and other related systems
    • Work with business users to identify, prioritize and deliver necessary system enhancements
    • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
    • Engage and manage work of outside consultants as required
    • Work with Appian IT staff to ensure system and environment stability and security
    • Work with outside auditors and consultants to assure SOX system compliance 
    • Serve as the primary contact and interface with Oracle support and outside consultants
  • Facilitate the design and development of integrations and customizations 
  • Create and provide training to support new functionality rollout 
  • Work with internal Appian Business Applications (ABA) team to support the development, implementation and interface of internal Appian business applications with ERP Systems
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools for project execution and production support activities
  • Develop sound governance processes to maintain financial systems, pipeline management, environment and code migration strategies, change management etc.
  • Manage staff and perform administrative tasks including performance management

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or equivalent degree or experience 
  • Direct work experience with ERP systems and integrations with common CRM solutions
  • Experience working with operational teams including Finance, Professional Services, and HR teams
  • Prior experience with NetSuite, OpenAir, and Workday
  • Understanding of Agile software practices 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Direct experience working on core financials, specifically general ledger, projects and contracts, time and expense, accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable.
  • Direct experience working on core HR, specifically onboarding, requisition, benefits, talent management, recruiting, payroll, and time tracking
  • Experience with data analytics and data warehousing is a plus
