Training Operations Specialist

As a training operations specialist, you’ll help to support the day-to-day operations of a small team of technical online course developers. You’ll work closely with them to help oversee course assets, team procedures, and help ensure the quality of our content for Appian’s web-based learning materials! What is Appian? It’s an application development platform that lets users of varying technical ability build powerful cloud and mobile apps with flexible, visual models instead of clunky custom code. 

Appian is headquartered in the McLean, Virginia area, and we are supportive of both Remote and Hybrid work environments.


  • Help to organize and manage content resources and assets across a variety of platforms
  • Ensure a positive customer experience for self-paced learners by responding to customer support questions and inquiries
  • Help to maintain procedural documentation and drive process improvement changes 
  • Support and improve go-to-market strategy for online training resources and promote content across internal and external audiences
  • Develop course abstracts, blurbs, and marketing content for technical material that clearly communicates the value of content and learning solutions to customers
  • Coordinate team ceremonies and meetings; help to facilitate and improve team communication
  • Gather and prepare data for training engagement reports and insights
  • Coordinate with training development vendors and partners, including learning system and translation vendors
    Assist with quality assurance control for content resources prior to publication

To be successful in this role, you will need to be:

  • A strong writer 
  • Amazingly organized and detail-oriented
  • A self-starter and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive, collaborative, and fun! We’re excited to come to work and want you to be too! 
  • Experienced with Google suite and Microsoft Office

  Some of the tools and resources we will equip you with include: 

  • An on-boarding program that will provide hands-on experience with our platform, and the processes and technologies we use in the Engineering department.
  • Our team works primarily with K, Java, Git; while also having the autonomy to use other technologies as needed to accomplish our goals more effectively.
  • Personal Indie Time (dedicated time to build whatever you want with whomever you want) and annual hackathons that provide opportunities for growth and leadership, which are activities that inspire others and get creative juices flowing.

Basic qualifications:

BA in business, communication, English, education, or related field  

Preferred Experience Level:

1-3 years of experience with operations management and/or project management
