We are expanding the global Appian Communications Team with an Australia/New Zealand Media Relations Manager. This role is responsible for ANZ media strategy development, program execution through management of Appian’s ANZ PR firm, and management of Appian’s ANZ social media channels. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in B2B technology PR, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in a technology PR agency or in-house public relations group is preferred.

 

To be successful in this role, you need: 

  • To amplify Appian brand awareness through ANZ media and in collaboration with Appian’s North America and EMEA media teams. Includes management of external PR firm to secure coverage across corporate, executive, and vertical market programs

  • To effectively interview prep for all Appian, customer, and/or partner media interviews

  • Clear, concise, and effective content creation, and strong editing skills

  • Engagement with sales and customers to help build customer stories through key media publications and social platforms

  • Collaboration with field and partner marketing team to leverage paid activities for earned opportunities

  • To develop regional organic social media strategy and manage Appian ANZ social channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube) to reach a wider range of influencers, communities and blogs

  • To advise employees (including executives) on social media best practices

  • To build reporting and analysis on Public Relations and organic social media performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of B2B enterprise software public relations experience (agency or in-house)

  • Organic social media management expertise

  • Excellent storytelling skills: strong writing, editing, and oral communication with attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
