Manager, Revenue Accounting

Are you looking to grow your career in software revenue accounting? We’re looking for someone for a passion for accounting, who loves to learn new things and is excited about partnering with our sales team on contracts!

The Manager, Revenue Accounting would report to the Senior Manager of Revenue Accounting and be responsible for providing support with respect to contract accounting, contract administration and revenue recognition.

 How you’ll contribute:

  • Review drafts of incoming customer contracts and provide revenue accounting guidance to Legal and Sales personnel on an as-needed basis
  • Review fully executed customer contracts to conclude on appropriate accounting treatment and identify any issues, ensuring that all software and services revenues are recorded in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (ASC 605-25, 985-605, etc…)
  • Prepare supporting revenue accounting documentation, including revenue accounting checklists, position papers and revenue allocation spreadsheets for booked orders
  • Assist manager with technical research on complex revenue accounting issues
  • Prepare Fair Value (VSOE and BESP) analyses of historical sales transactions
  • Assist revenue accounting team with journal entries, account reconciliations and reporting when needed
  • Assist with tracking of subscription renewals and cancellations
  • Help manager prepare for implementation of new revenue accounting standards (ASC 606)
  • Provide other support to manager as required
  • Work with and support general accounting, business management and tax functions as required
  • Support annual audit and auditors as required


About You:

  • You have 3-7 years of corporate software revenue accounting experience (contract accounting and revenue recognition experience required)
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a CPA or MBA
  • You have experience in public accounting
  • You enjoy regular and frequent interaction with sales personnel, senior management, outside auditors and customers
  • You have strong collaboration and communication skills
  • You have strong Microsoft Excel skills required
  • You have worked with an ERP financial system (preferably PeopleSoft)
  • You are organized and analytical
  • You are excited about working in an area that requires special attention to detail and has monthly deadlines
  • You are looking for an opportunity to grow and take on more responsibilities as required
