Senior Solution Engineer

Technical support is a critical part of Appian's commitment to our customers and partners. We are looking for a hands-on engineer with excellent analytical and communication skills. Appian's Solution Engineering department is responsible for a wide variety of areas of responsibility and an engineer that is eager to be involved in many different areas of responsibility is desired. We provide support for our on-premise customers and as well as our cloud customers.


  • Technical support (phone, email, case management) to Appian customers in a timely and precise manner.
  • Production support of Appian Cloud.
  • Perform root cause analysis and follow-through on resolving the root cause.
  • Deliver informal mentorship to our customers.
  • Draft documentation and best practices.
  • Provide training and mentorship to other engineers


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or similar.
  • Should be excellent at problem solving, have a talent for identifying creative solutions and skilled at providing exceptional customer service (verbal/written).
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication.
  • Experience with Java application server platforms including at least one of JBoss, WebLogic or WebSphere.
  • Experience with RDBMS platforms including at least one of MySql, Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows
  • Experience with Web Servers
  • Server architecture experience dealing with high availability environments
  • Have a preference for a technical career path.
